IW 18-9463 (9463) LOCK CLOSURES 2019 Marseilles Lock Dam RM 244.6 and Starved Rock Lock Dam 231.0

Marseilles Lock, RM 244.6 and Starved Rock Lock RM 231.0 will be closed to traffic during the day starting 01-June-2019 through 15-August-2019. Daily closures will start at 0600 and continue until 1800, 7 days per week.

The Locks will be open from 1800 until 0600, but during this time there will also be a 70’ width restriction in place and both sites will be unable to pull upbound unpowered cuts. Assist boats will be required.

There will be no daytime closures 04-July-2019 through 07-July-2019, but width restrictions will remain in effect.

Marseilles Lock, RM 244.6 and Starved Rock Lock RM 231.0 will be closed to all navigation starting at 0100 on Friday 16-August-2019 through 2359 on Thursday 29-August-2019.

Marseilles Lock, RM 244.6 and Starved Rock Lock RM 231.0 will be closed to traffic during the day on 30 and 31-August-2018. Daily closures will start at 0600 and continue until 1800. The Locks will be open from 1800 until 0600, but during this time there will also be a 70’ width restriction in place, and both sites will be unable to pull upbound unpowered cuts. Assist boats will be required.

The purpose for the closure is for the removal of the existing emergency gates and installation of dewatering bulkhead slots in preparation for the 2020 dewaterings.

Mariners are requested not to tie up along the guide walls during these periods unless instructed by lock staff.
